The Polo Report

… but there were a lot of very happy and smiling Mothers on this Mother’s Day of 2011, so that was very good.
Happy Mothers Day to you all!
On the polo side one game was real and one was not. Grant’s Farm asked for a delay from the Antelope game due to some very unexpected problem with Santi Wolfs horses, so the real deal will be on Wed. as without the soldiers you are captain of nothing. So in good form, Geoff Palmer of Antelope agreed to wait.
The second and premier game was not a practice or a fun game for the teams, but a very good game for the fans. Cotterel Farms and the Colorado Cowgirl came out on fire and stayed that way for most of the first half and then in the 3rd left a little too much on the plate and the Palm Desert /Long Beach squad under command of Dan Horn came roaring back to tie it up. After the Tea & Champagne break it was not so easy for anyone as the Equalizer kept coming back every-time one escaped. Then in the sixth with 5 minutes to go PD/LB big stick got hot and it was Escobar scoring 2 goals in 40 seconds that put it seemingly out of reach. but Jenny and the Boys roared right back and within a second it would have been tied and sent to OT but the refs said it was over so PD/LB go to 1 – 1 and Cotterel Farms goes to 0 and 2. They meet Grant’s Farm on Friday while Antelope with a wounded Patron Mr. Palmer meet Grant’s Farm on Wed. and Palm Desert on Friday, so it will be a busy week coming up.
See ya.
Wounded patron, what happened to Geoff?
