This past Saturday the Santa Barbara Polo Club hosted its second Coaching League of the season it was a great success. The coaching league is centered on getting players that have not had a lot of grass experience comfortable in a game setting while providing game strategy and rule instruction. This instruction is done by two playing coaches (1 on each team) and one mounted umpire. The sessions have been revised to two 30 minute chukkers (with many breaks for instruction) and a before hand chalk talk which is held 30 minutes before the game (the chalk talk will be held for the first time this Saturday). The prices for the Coaching league have also been reduced to $200 a session with your own horses or $300 a session with a horse provided.
