These teams all have one thing in common. They WON in the first round of the 12-Goal Skins at Eldorado Polo Club. It was Palm Desert coming back from a 4 goal margin to sneak by a tough newcomer Big Eds Aspen Oaks. They proved a point … it ain’t over until its over. In another game in overtime it was the Hawks showing the door to High Prairie in a gunfight. Young Julian Mannix (The Hawks), star of the Feb. Finals, was in the snow up North battling books for high school or as they say there secondary school. Valiente took no pitty on the return of Mike Hakan as he returns from a long layover from a crushed leg. Windsor Capital, high flying Jr. polo young guns, was at full speed as they smoked The Colorado Cowgirl Jenny Luttrel and her farm hands in their usual bound to run. Clemente Zavaleta was on fire today as the speedos were non-stop express today. It was the Governor (Pat Nesbitt of Windsor Cap.) leading the charge often and he did well. It’s just not often that 3 people are holding back as they come so hard and so fast. Pat is the same age as all 3 of them combined and he has a big job keeping the express behind him. Pat is doing it all alone. They were all good games and the fields did get better over the break. The fields still may be the worst in the U.S., but they were better, so thats a plus. See you on Friday
There is a full slate again and it is like this:
DUENDE VS COTTRELL FARMS
PALM DESERT VS WINDSOR CAPITAL
VALIENTE VS HIGH PRAIRIE
HAWKS VS ASPEN OAKS THIS IS ON SAT.
The 8-goal League has 4 teams in it which is a crime for one of the best tournaments in the country. I will get the names later, but its easy to say no one is going to beat CASA BLANCA and thats just the way it is in March of 2008.
Out at La Quinta Polo Club they are also playing a the Tritech Skins Tournament where they play for 4 grand a chukker and they may get a full payment. Believe it or not Sean Keys is winning! This may be because Wild Bill Freeman is out on the injured list, but its a fact. Sean Keys, however, has not met Silent Chris Maloney (of Tritech) yet and that maybe a problem as he is numero uno so far out East of a town where the grass really grows.
See ya.
