WINDSOR CAPITAL, OC COUGARS & SKEETERVILLE all did the same today. They all won on a wild affair. It was Skeeterville who came out on top as they are 3 hours ahead of CA time. They pulled it out of their hat with a golden effort by a senior member of the team, Owen Rhinehart. He is the elder on the field and also the best as he constantly killed us (Zacara) on breakaways. Rhinehart did it with his offense in the last goal of the game to tie it up and then they did win it on a # 4, but it was done. So in the first round of the U.S. Open it was Zacara just falling to Skeeterville and Bendabout getting a pretty good hiding from Isla Carroll. They all have to do it again later in the week.
Out West at Eldorado Polo Club it was action packed and a very exciting end to a very poor season. The OC Cougars (Matias and Tomas Obregon, Robin Paicious, Jessica Bailey) and their Rockin Robin outlasted the Mighty Hawks (Julian Mannix, Joseph Stuart, Patrick Uretz and Carlitos Galindo) by their chin hair. It was a Golden Goal by Tomas Obregon on a brilliant run to send the OC Cougars through to become the 2008 CHAMPIONS of the U.S.P.A. Governor’s Cup.
In an even bigger game it was the Governor himself (Pat Nesbitt) showing the kids their way as he lead his mighty Windsor Capital to a 4 to 2 lead in Skins over the Hawks, who just seemed to be the second place team today in both finals. The Palomino (Jason Crowder) and th BA Bullet in the form of Clemente Zavaleta seemed to be on fire. They had a lot of help from a hard-charging Gov. (Pat Nesbitt) and Jofie (Joseph Stuart) who had two finals back to back same as Mini Mac (Julian Mannix). They playeed together in a losing effort in the Gov. Cup Final and then were foes in the Skins. Windsor Cap. continues to add to their record number of “Skins” and that’s just fine with the boys in blue and white because its all green in the end. This team leaves town with 16 grand. Our hats off to all the finalist today and congratulations to:
