News from the USPA Meetings in Aiken, SC
-Governors just approved rule change allowing -1’s to play up to 12 goal polo– was previously limited to 8 goal.-Governors also passed rule chg allowing two -1’s in 4-goal and below. Previously limited to one/team.
– Pat Nesbitt was elected President to succeed Charles Wraver in 4 year. This an historic event. The first time in the USPA 120 year history that a president will come from the West Coast.
More to come, this is just a quick update so you can start making your teams for this winter with -1’s!!!
Wow. -1 in 12 goal…
I’ve thought about this new rule for several days, and other than encouraging patrons to lobby for a lower rating ( B), I see no reason this rule could possibly improve polo. A legitimate -1 has no business playing 12 goal polo. An up-and-coming patron who is playing 8 goal (which is also ridiculous) should improve to an A rating quickly, so I don’t see how this rule is ‘leaving out’ new patrons.
Can you expand on the rationale on this rule change?
