The number was 12 and the two big guns had it. A six-goaler with Guns a blazing named Jeff Blake, who had his usual dominator game they say. He was playing with hard-hitting eliminator, the Kentucky Colonel himself George Rawlings. The Kentucky Fried took out the Mailman from Boston and his Pony Express foursome. Crab Orchard heads to the finals.

It was a supreme effort to get the Super Star named Adolfo Cambiaso, but not enough as he and Crab Orchard head to their second straight U.S. Open finals. There they will meet the Astradas, who they know well and it will be a dandy I am sure. The Flamingo colored Las Monijtas will try to be the only team to stop them twice in one season. This is a big order for Camillo’s boys, but they have done it once this season. This is, however, the U.S. Open and there are a few of these on Cambiasos walls from wherever he plays in an Open. Crab Orchard out fought White Birch by the same dozen it took Crab Orchard and the score was the same 12 to 11 in both games. The weather was fantastic with temperatures in the 70’s, so the horses and players were a lot happier as well. Both losing teams had chances at the very end to tie it up, but Father Time got them both.

Well done CRAB ORCHARD and LAS MONJITAS. These two teams were the early favorites to be there and they were. Its the U.S. Open and two Americans made it. Jeff Blake and George Rawlings and they earned their way there. So I hope they win it all.
