Marking a decade of snow polo in the beautiful Tyrolean Alps

The sporting event that epitomizes a glorious fête in the Tyrolean Alps will return for the 10th Valartis Bank Snow Polo World Cup in Kitzbühel – one week before the Hahnenkamm race. On the snowy Munichauer Wiese – at the foot of the Kitzbuehler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser – international world class players from six nations will fight for the title. German actor Heino Ferch and his wife Marie-Jeanette are participating – making it their 8th attendance at one of the world’s most spectacular polo competition on snow.
The four-day celebration of the world’s oldest – and most exciting – team sport will feature 96 ponies and highly acclaimed polo players including, but not limited to, Johnny Good (UK), Valentin Novillo Astrada (ARG), Moritz Gädeke, Thomas Winter, and Christopher Winter (GER). Eight teams battle for the World Cup: Valartis Bank (title sponsor), Audi (co-sponsor), Parmigiani, Tom Tailor, Hawker Beechcraft, VIP Traveller, Kitzbühel and title holder Wintertechnik.
Attendees at this year’s Valartis Bank Snow Polo World Cup can expect an exclusive and exciting winter sport experience with an attractive schedule of festivities – on and off the field – as well as culinary highlights for the whole family. The event is sure to attract an array of notables, celebrities and VIPS from sports and politics to society and media alike, who come to enjoy a sport steeped with tradition in a setting surrounded by the snow-capped Alps.
