No new cases today. The two horses in isolation appear well clinically with normal temperatures. After discussions with the State officials, the chief veterinarian for the Animal Health Division requested testing both horses since they are the only ones in isolation that originated outside the biosecurity zone. This will be done Monday morning with results expected Tuesday afternoon or evening. The horses will remain in isolation until the test results come back.
Just a word on the quarantine zone again – the entire complex is under a “no in, no out” order as far as movement of horses. All horses within the complex must stay in their respective stabling areas and cannot be moved around or shipped out to any local ranches, other cities or states. No horses can be shipped in to the quarantine zone at all. This remains in effect until the quarantine is lifted completely.
Hang in there.
