Here in the U.S. as we all celebrated the 4th of July, many grooms and truck drivers are pointed West as the move to the West coast polo is underway. The diesel prices and fires are still going up, but its worth the risk to feel the cool Gold Coast air and brave the Desert on their way towards cool ocean breezes.
We know the price of diesel has reached $5.50 in some places here in California. It is about $3 higher than Mexico or anywhere else, but its hard to make it in the U.S. The U.S. Government shaved over a billion off Exxons fine in Alaska, so they could pay for it. Real nice how we get screwed without a smile. Kind of like we cannot improve train traffic on the coast because big oil stopped it 60 years ago. Now we have to feed a million illegals in prision at a cost of a billion, but it would be to expensive to load them up and ship them home, so we cut the police fire & Emp; education budgets instead of airplane to haul them out of here because they have to be cared for in prision.
Our future looks quite bright here in the home country. There is no control over oil as our leaders are from it and our farmers are starving in many places from floods and droughts. Soon we will not even be able to feed people except the prisioners.
We are, however, going to have Polo in California. Good polo that is. We have 8 teams have signed up for the 20-goal in Santa Barbara. A few teams are from California, but others are on their way from Argentina, England, Florida, New York and a whole herd of Texans. We have a Canadian who is their best player in the form of Frederick Mannix, Jr. from Calgary. Lyndon Lea from the U.K., Ruki Baileau from Australia, Paco De Narvaez from Argentina, Carlos and Memo Gracida from Mexico, Jeff Hall from Texas and The U.S. OPEN M.V.P. Jeff Blake from Florida. So get ready to rumble. The rigs are moving and the horses are liking this cool California air, so its big time in Carpinteria (Santa Barbara) from now until Sept 7th. So come on up and see the big boys rock on the old S.B. grass. Everyone is invited from T-shirts to Armani and tennis shoes to Jimmy Choo. You are welcome to bring the kids, the honey and have a good time. It all starts every Sunday afternoon at 1 PM or any Friday all day long.
Across the pond its some old favorites doing well. Julio Arellano has 2 wins in the British Open as well as Mariano Gonzalez. Best of them all is Tom Barrack who has 3 wins and in the quarters already as the only local from our area in it. Carpinteria’s Matt Gonzalez is also there as head horsemaster of Zacara.
See ya there!
