SARATOGA TAKES SNOW QUEEN CUP.

Saratoga got out to a quick lead and stayed there, besting Bloomfield by 5 goals to claim The Snow Queen Vodka Cup at Saratoga Polo on Friday. The final score was 11-6.

James Uihlein started Saratoga off strong, scorning the only goal of the first chukker and 4 of the first 6 in the game. Joe Wayne Barry had 2 of his 3 goals in chukkers two and three and Matt Coppola added 1 of his 2 to help Saratoga close out the first half with a commanding 7-1 lead.

While Marcelo Castro had a goal off of a penalty in the second chukker, Bloomfield really started to get going in the second chukker with goals from every member of their squad. Andy Lott, Will Orthwein and Gene Gass all had a score in the second half and Castro had another 2 to finish with a team-high 3 goals on the day.

Uilhlein led all scorers, finishing with 5 goals. Rick Baum also scored for the winning squad.

1. The final match of The USPA Regional President’s Cup, which was cancelled due to a rainout, will be rescheduled for a later date in the near future.

2. The Hector and Susan Barrantes Memorial Cup will commence at Saratoga Polo next week. Brackets and schedule will be released shortly.
