WHAT: PERRIER-JOUËT PRESENTS A SAVORY TASTING WITH CHEF DOUG RODRIGUEZ AT THE 2008 MERCEDES-BENZ POLO CHALLENGE AT BLUE STAR JETS FIELD
The Bridgehampton Polo Club along with Perrier-Jouët will host a savory tasting with James Beard Award Nominee, Chef Doug Rodriguez at the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge. This summer’s matches promise to be some of the most exciting in the sport of polo. This week, Team Pony XX will battle Team YY.
Founded in 1811, by Nicolas Perrier and Adèle Jouët in the year following their marriage, Perrier-Jouët is a celebration of their passion for the beauty of life. Perrier-Jouët is immediately recognized by its iconic flower bottle designed by prominent Art Nouveau artist Emile Gallé and remains a testament to the avant-garde spirit of the Belle Époque era. Produced with only the finest grapes from the grand crus vineyards in Champagne, the style of Perrier-Jouët is reflected by the elegance and finesse of each cuvee.
Chef Douglas Rodriguez, the “King of Ceviche” and famed Polo player Nacho Figueras have come together for the first time to create Nuela, Manhattan¹s preeminent Latin American restaurant opening in the Flatiron District this fall. On Saturday, August 16, Chef Douglas Rodriguez and Nacho Figueras will introduce VIP guests of Bridgehampton Polo to Nuela with a preview of signature menu items and a chance to meet the Nuela team. Special guests include Nuela¹s powerhouse design team of fashion designer Angel Sanchez and interior designer Christopher Coleman.
Season partners include: Ralph Lauren, Piaget, St. Regis, Catherine M. Zadeh Fine Jewelry, Champagne Perrier-Jouët and Stolichnaya Vodka, Capricho Residences at Playa Mujeres, FIJI Water, Tag Heuer Eyewear and Gruen Eyes, T-Mobile Sidekick, Coca-Cola, Hpnotiq, Peroni Beer and Zino Platinum Cigars.
The season will continue for six consecutive Saturdays, ending August 23rd. Teams that will compete this season include: White Birch, Black Watch, Pony Express, Equuleus, Jumeirah Culu Culu and Mansour. All proceeds from the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge will go to the South Fork Breast Health Coalition. The V.I.P. tent will host an invitation-only cocktail reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during the tournament. Catering will be provided by RCano Catering.
