The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder

8xNacho_7413_121006Where Nacho travels so do fans and big sticks. The Desert will see some big ones soon as the “Big Bird” as in Kris Kampsen and the Chilean Superstar Jose Donoso will join local star Mariano Fassetta and Nacho.  This will make for some very good polo not seen here since the early 90’s.  The teams are handicapped at 18-goals. It is all happening at EMPIRE POLO, home of the Champions’ Cup where the big money will be up for the players playing.

Some new faces are also due to be in town over the next few weeks. From the Northwest to join in on the fun you have Ron Mathison and his Highwood Ranch team. Out of the past comes Los Banditos leader Dave Dollinger.  March Madness is here, so join the fun and see the stars as well as the polo ponies. If you want to make a little money get a team. There are plenty of Pros available. The weather is picture perfect and you can find someone from wherever you have been or where you currently live. We have Texans like Tim Kelly and his Lockton Team General Lee Pettigrew and Mecari of Calgary, Alberta, Suzi the Cougar out of Spokane, Silent Chris Maloney and Tritech Polo from San Diego, The Colorado Cowgirl Jenny and Cotterel Farm from Colorado, Malia McCoy out of Oregon, Kate Weber out of Thermal, Mr. Flock out of Seattle, the Adams Family from Winnipeg, Bolko Kissling out of Hamburg, the other Cougars the Cobbs and Grahams from the Bay area with Barrossa, the Doctor Paicius as in Rick and Trinity Polo Newport, Ruben C out of Florida and Krista from the 50 th State and Fergus from Down Under. Must be someone from Chicago … just can not remember.

Down South in the big one the Desert Rats of Zorzal fell in OT in their first game of the year. Mr Polo AC (Adolfo Cambiaso) gave someone a thrashing as did Faco and Magoo. Cction resumes Sat. So that’s what I know at this time.

see ya @ Polo Sunday and next Saturday the 23rd of March
