Sunday is closing in the end is near the Best Polo in America is going to be history in less than 48 hours as the 2013 finish is near. The last two teams in the Alphabet will meet int the BIG ONE VALIENTE with Big Bob leading the charge from Denver.Co. which 98 % of the people there do not know Polo but they will soon see it live . Bob is living a Polo Dream entering the high goal World 3 Years ago in South Florida with his son Robert who may have been the first Jornayvaz to put his name on a 26 goal Trophy left 8 and 12 goal Polo in Indio and headed East to take on the big time and like his life he has made it work. Bob was playing Polo at Retama as a youngster in San Antonio where it used to be the Capital of Polo back then but he had one problem he needed to pay for it so he did what few young Players ever do he went to work in the real world and about 20 years later came back as a Patron and does it his way winning on his terms . Him and son Robert have won 3 of the last 5 26 goal tournaments not bad in 3 years and Robert may well have had an Open title last year except he had a small break but it was in A. Cambiaso’s Polo Hand a major Problem anytime . This is where Zacara comes in and they filled the card and took it home . AC has had a hand not just the broken one in handing Zacara titles in 2011 he was hurt in the semis against Zacara and could not play and Zacara galloped on and finished first and won the British Open in 2012 Valiente 2 was marching to the title when AC broke his hand earlier and they found them selves in the Victory Lane again as US OPEN Champs . This year so far all are healthy and they are down the middle I think one and one, so the tie breaker will be a big one . The good thing is there will be an American Pro in the winners circle either way Sunday.
Here is the way I see it :
Zacara Valiente
Playing #
# 1 PATRON ZACARA Lyndon lea Very strong and willing to work for team can score and will be there
# 1 PATRON VALIENTE Bob Jornayvaz Very tough and has a goal on his mind very hard to stop.
# 2 Z Magoo Laprida amazing talent very tough on field and needs to have a super day and
he usually stand up in the big ones
# 2 V Santi Torres low goal pro but he does not know it and he has no problem reaching out to do his
job every day and every way
# 3 Z Facundo Pieres – A bit flashier than Pop but has very good record when he
gets to the finals and is the second best in the World by most accounts .
# 3 V Pelon David Sterling should be David before Pelon but few know it he is the only non Ar.
player in the world @ 10 goals and he is as smooth as silk .
# 4 Z Mike Azzaro I think he has 6 of these @ at home he won his first in or about 1986 27 years ago
and he is not 50 yet so it is not his first rodeo and he played to MVP a year ago so it is never over
until she sings.
# 4 V Adolfo Cambiaso – He is the best by all accounts period and he has a lot of these trophies already can he win another ? Well does a horse eat hay? If he stays healthy for 6 chukkars look for him to to add to his case.
My expectations Zacara will be very tough early and try to deal with it late but no matter waht the 4 legged friend is a factor are just a little more important than the riders and I think V has edge over Z late I hope it is a very good game either way .
WE SHALL SEE YA
