Today was the last day of Summer and the first day of Fall. What a day for those Kentucky Boys in the Ryders Cup. I like golf and this was awesome. It was the first time since 1999 that the USA won against Europe and it was not the Big Sticks doing it. Phil should take a pill and bow out. His record is real bad and on the other side it was the same. Sergio, Harrington & Rose were just as bad. The rookies to the Cup were awesome. Europe had Poulter, who was amazing. The USA had Kentucky’s Ken Perry and JB Holmes and they were amazing as was Boo Weekly. These are the individuals who are playing for your Flag it was really great. It was Jim Furyk, who is the Jeff Blake of team USA, finishing it. The big guns for the U.S. were A. Kim and Perry, Holmes and Campbell, Curtis, Mahan doing the job. Well done USA. Another Yank story was the end of Yankee Stadium as the final game was played there the last day of Summer 2008. It was 85 years going and the house Babe Ruth built.

In the polo scene it’s all about the economy. Will we or will we not have a good year? If the CEOs of bankrupt companies play polo, then we should do well. I read today that the man who ran or managed Lehman Brother’s has earned a 1/2 billion dollars since he started there. That translates into 17 grand a day. Now Lehman is broke. I am sure covered with an Umbrella to pay him off because it was not his fault. Amazing. If you want to get rich run a big company into the ground and then retire. Maybe we need to talk to these people. It sounds like the same as running polo. We just never see the money. If we (polo on the West Coast) survive, it looks like it could be a lot of fun. Eldorado is making moves to make it a better place to be. There are some improvement on the fields. Empire’s fields are really looking good. They have new sprinkler heads on two of them. Sand could stop the slipping over there and it could very well be the place to be. Plus Empire is super clean and beautifully landscaped. By cutting back on backyard-polo the fields will improve.

In the Polo scene today, it was 8-goal in San Diego where they had their finals. It was a big day for Chris Collins, who had about 5 on the day. His team swept by the Madison /Ohana squad and sent South Wind to the trophy table. Up in SB where 3 teams are competing for the first 8. It’s a showdown next Saturday at between the Ladin’s and Lande/Renkin for the big one on Sunday. Houston is back in action after a wet September. They are out of town for a while, but playing polo. The Women are all headed to Aiken where there is a big Ladies Tournament at New Bridge PC. Way down south in Argentina, it was Adolfo Cambiaso smoking the Jockey Club finalist. They are two frequent visitors to California in the form of Mariano and Sapo.

See ya.
