It was a real downer here in Italy to get the dreadful news of Javier’s passing . It was the second loss in the Polo World this year not 1/2 over of two of the top offensive players ever first Carlos Gracida now Javier two former 10 goalers with so many cups by there names and still in the game. Javier was often the leader of the mighty Los Mojitas team in Fl for the last decade .He was also in the top 10 leaders in the UK for this time. Javier about 4 yrs. a go suffered a brain tumor but 12 months later was back in great form, but it no doubt was the thing that cane back .
I really cannot believe the bad ad new’s.In caseyoudono5 know the Astrada’s are one of the giant Family’s of Argentina and Javier was one of the brothers who have won the Open in Arg, and been near if not won it in the US
as well which I am sure he did with Los Mojitas’ We send all of his family our best in there worst time and know he is in a better place we hope and can join Carlos on the field of dreams up yonder.
see ya
Javo Novillo-Astrada was more than a good a regular Catholic he was a saint, a man of God, a true example what a good Christian should be, he was extremely generous, with everybody, he had a crystal clear soul and a heart bigger than mountain, He loved polo, his dearest wife Delfina, his two sons Manuel and Simon and his two daughters Mina and Clara, the last one was born when he was already ill with the brain tumor. I will never forget Javo, as I was praying for almost five years, since April 2009, I will continue praying this time to Javo asking him to help his family, friends and all those who loved him and were proud of him, he was a man of all seasons, a chosen by Our Lord. The polo world in mourning him, but many others are doing the same, farewell Javo until we see each other once again in heaven near our Lord.
Don’t forget Javier, he still is with us, as an angel of God, as a saint, considering his life, I will ask everybody to pray for him always, for his wife Delfina and four children always. We cannot forget all the good that he did in this life and we cannot forgot what kind of wonderful player he was, a coach for the English team, and the heart of this family’s team La Aguada. Some people are preparing a presentation at the Holy See regarding his exemplary life as a humble man, a true Catholic, a wonderful father, husband, son and brother, but above all his sense of charity and love to everybody. He deserves to a be a servant of God, which is the first step to being beatified according with Our Church in Rome. He is an almost unique example for all generations, specially young people, but even and almost old chap like myself , I learned a lot from him, he never complained, he always had a great and natural smile, and he was full of light, his eyes and they way that he looked, showed his sainthood.
