Klentner Ranch wins their fourth tournament of the summer, defeating Cotterel for the USPA Wickenden Cup.
Klentner Ranch has had a successful season at Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. Father and son duo, Justin and Jake Klentner have proven to be a force on the field with teammates Tim Rudy and Jesse Bray. Klentner Ranch got a jump on the competition scoring the first 5 goals of the match in the first chukker. Cotterel came back in the second chukker with 4 goals to make it 5-4 at the end of the 2nd chukker. They continued on their scoring spree and gained a two goal advantage over Klentner Ranch going into the half 8-6. Klentner Ranch tied the score in the 4th, and was able to maintain a slight lead over Cotterel for the rest of the match. Klentner Ranch won with a final score of 14-12. Justin Klentner’s horse “Firestone” was awarded Best Playing Pony and Ruben Coscia was awarded MVP. Jesse Bray received special recognition for his one shot goal scored from the midfield on a penalty 5. Coco from Gauthier Jewelers presented the awards.
