Thursday afternoon’s opening match of the 2014 USPA Kay Colee Memorial tournament was postponed due to wet field conditions. Originally the match between Flight Options (Melissa Ganzi, Jessie Bray, Juan Bollini and Julio Gracida) and Newport (Gene Goldstein, Leo Mandelbaum, Roberto Gonzalez and Brandon Phillips) on Thursday afternoon but another dose of rain forced the game to be put off until Friday morning at 10AM on Field 10.
A second game between Casablanca (Grant Ganzi, Juancito Bollini, Wes Finlayson and Guille Aguero) and Audi/Palm Beach Equine (Marc Ganzi, Carlitos Gracida, Nic Roldan and Scott Swerdlin) will take place at 4PM on Field 8.
Casablanca returns at the defending tournament champion and will fight to defend their 2013 title. The take the field this year without American 8-goaler Mike Azzaro and will rely upon the veteran Argentine 6-goaler Guille Aguero to fill out the squad.
The winners will face one another in the tournament final on Sunday at 3PM. A consolation match between Friday’s losing teams will be played on Sunday at 4:30PM.
