June 4 Goal Championship goes to Smithfield Farm
Smithfield (John Klopp, Sam Ramirez, Bebe Brown, Andres Erhbetti) nudged out Supersize (Bruce Colley, Felix Martinez, James McBride, and Amy Wisehart) in the final seconds in a tightly fought contest between two very determined teams to take bragging rights of the June 4 goal.
Smithfield was showcasing a balanced squad of four one goal players, while Supersize has Felix at 3 goals, Bruce at 2 goals, James at 0, and Amy at -1). Two four goal teams, but very different dynamics in their styles.
The victory goal came moments before the final horn.
The real surprise of the contest was that we were even able to get the game played, as weather predictions were all about flash flood warnings as opposed to the partly sunny skies over mashomack’s polo fields this afternoon.
Two of the players kept calling me every several minutes as their drive from the City was through several downpours.

Longfield Farm vs Buena Vista-The Sequel
Don Langlois and Woody Keesee have put together a team that went undefeated in league play. The format of the league called for a championship between the top two records. So Duke Buchan’s Longfield, not very comfortable with losing, now has an opportunity for a re-match. They were leading Buena Vista by one going into the final chukker of their first meeting and then Tatin scored two unanswered goals in the sixth of that game to take that victory. Dont miss out on what should be a wonderful display of polo. Good Luck to both teams.
