On to the World news I was sitting around today really reading the paper and guess what I found? Some unusual postings in the paper that make me wonder are we really up to the know in today’s age of super media? I doubt it. In the New York times it said “Chevron posted a surge in earnings.” Well no kidding! They posted a 1.4 billion profit over last years 573 million and guess what? A great deal of it was the sales on the West Coast where spot prices fell much quicker than the retail prices. Gas here in the West is still 50 to 75 cents a gallon higher than the rest of the U.S.
Another story was really good. In the 80’s I was in Columbia and it was as bad if not worse than Miami in terms of safety. Now its safe for children and single people to walk down the street there. The two biggest changes they made were to enforce the law, no liquor after a set time. They also made changes to mass transportation. They quit wasting money on bigger highways and fixed the mass transit problems and stopped liquor sales after 7 pm or whatever. Maybe someone should pass this to Halliburton or Los Angeles Police.
Another good one was the collection of parking tickets. Now how hard is this with computers today? If you do not pay for your tickets then no tags! Well it must be tough as Los Angles is owed 164 million in fines not paid. Great politicians . . . your budget is 271 million for the year. Maybe hire someone to say no tags or as usual hire Halliburton to collect and pay them for it, extra that is!!
Here is one for the women of the World. Australia’s top Muslim’s words about Women he compared women without a head scarf to uncovered meat. “It makes the cats come and eat it” he said. Who’s fault is it? The cats or uncovered meat? He also had a very brilliant comment . . . “if Women stayed home and wore a Hijab, sexual assaults might not occur.” So you Ladies know what to do now! Polo only with a mask and a helmet because we are the cats waiting for you if you are uncovered.
The Polo scene is sort of boring at the moment. A real Lady is uncovered, but Mother Nature is drowning polo players around the World. No polo in Argentina this week, Mexico and Aiken.
