Poway was scheduled to host an Arena Tournament Saturday Nov. 18 but instead is co-hosting an arena-grass clinic with Lakeside Polo Clinic the weekend of Nov. 25-26 – the clinic instructor is Shane Rice, USPA handicapped at 5 goals on the grass and 6 goals in the arena.
Saturday will be hosted at Poway and will feature Arena play. Sunday will be hosted at Lakeside and feature grass play. Lakeside grass clinic could be scheduled for Friday Nov. 24 if that fit the major attending better.
Clinic will feature game strategy, hitting techniques, duties of players at each position, proper lineup for throw in and penalty shots. Understanding of the USPA Rules and most common fouls. This is not a umpire certification clinic but understanding of the rules will be stressed for both safety and improved play of the game. There will be a Umpire Certification Clinic with Billy Sheldon in either Jan. or Feb.
There will be both class room and riding sessions, a limited number of horses will be available for rental. Non riders may attend the clinic but at the same cost.
