The Copa Internacional Feminina was a stunning and breathtaking international ladies tournament, which was held from 18-20 September 2015 at the Polo Club La Mata del Herrador in Seville. Top female polo players from Germany, England, Austria, Argentina, Slovakia, Russia, New Zealand and Spain were invited to compete against each other and fought for victory.
There were two pro players in each of the three teams, which were equally matched. There was a very high standard of play and the spectators saw nice backs, passes and goals. Until the last moment all the players were playing exiting competitive polo to win the game. The Copa Internacional Feminina was played as an Open, which is why the female participants played without a handicap.
The results were very close. La Mata and CUE equalized 4-4. Ital Fiocchi beat La Mata by 1 goal in the last seconds, and CUE defeated Ital Fiocchi with a difference of 2 goals. The tournament was won by team CUE, including Alex Jacob, Alexandra Bencikova, Harriete Styles and Carla Alvarez.
The players were enthusiastic about the Polo Club La Mata del Herrador as well as about Seville, the capital of Andalusia. In addition to the polo matches, the whole weekend sightseeing trips to the city of Seville were organised. At night the participants of the tournament enjoyed cocktails and champagne on the terrace of the hotel EME, which offers a stunning view on the famous cathedral of Seville.
At the same weekend the tenth edition of the Copa de Andalucia was held at Polo Club La Mata del Herrador. Three teams including Andalusian polo players participated in the tournament. Paco Morales (0), Paquito Morales (0), Pascual Alvarez (1) and Marcos Alvarez (0) of team San Pablo emerged victorious. Alvaro Alvarez (2) of team Mata del Herrador showed a brilliant performance.
The polo kids also had opportunity to show their skills and competed against each other in the Torneo Jovenes Promesas. Team CUE defeated its opponent La Mata by 4-3.
