Overnight reains moved Sunday’s Independence Cup play to move to the Aspen Valley Polo Club’s arena. The team rosters were adjusted to just three players per side for the round-robin competition.

Heavy Colorado rains have forced today’s Independence Cup to be played at the polo arena at the Aspen Valley Polo Club where adjusted teams of three players per team will compete in the original round-robin format.

Lining up for La Karina will be Brian Boyd, Marc Ganzi and Julio Novillo Astrada. Casablanca will ride into the arena with Grant Ganzi, Juancito Bollini and Lucas Lalor in the saddle.  Flexjet will see Melissa Ganzi/Segundo Merlos, Carlitos Gracida and Sebastian Merlos.

La Karina will face Flexjet in the opening three chukkers with the winning team sitting out the next three. Casablanca will meet the loser with the winning team from the opening three periods playing Casablanca for the final three chukkers of the day.

An awards ceremony will follow the final chukker.

The Aspen Valley Polo Club is located at 3275 County Road 100, Carbondale, CO. Everyone is welcome to watch polo in a relaxed atmosphere. Admission and parking are free. The club’s Polo Hotline is: 970-710-1663.
