It was the annual Crash and Burn Party at San Diego Polo Cub on Friday night. It is so much fun for the simple reason . . . if you have not crashed and burned all season long, you will at the party. Everyone is awarded who has had a crash and that includes about 35% of everyone who plays there.
The Club honors this event with a big party and does skits and videos of as many crashes they can find. The party is free and if you went off your horse you bring a case of beer! The best act in polo is Julio Chris Enrique Juan Jose Zavaleta Maloney as he does it so well. He is as a super Argie stud from Del Mar, CA. Julio even sells horses Teenie Weenie polo ponies not born, but guaranteed to be polo prospects. This week it was a special 5 for 1/2 million plus care. Rumor is he sold 5 tonight.
Polo is played fun-style in San Diego. I think the reason is people see each other at these affairs and that does not happen often in polo anymore. Every Friday night at SDPC there is a party at the Tiki Bar. Hey POLO People. there is nothing wrong with dining. dancing and just having fun.
