The Audi polo team of Amelia Galindo, Melissa Ganzi, Sunny Hale and Danika Rice scored wins over Catena and the Parrot Heads in round-robin competition at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington Tuesday afternoon.
Audi scored a 1-0 win over the Parrot Heads in the opening two chukkers of play, with Melissa Ganzi scoring Audi’s only goal.
In the second contest, The Parrot Heads rebounded to defeat Catena 3-2. Roni Duke scored twice for Parrot Heads and Carolyn Stimmel added a single goal in the win.
Ashley Van Metre scored twice for Catena.
Audi charged onto the field for the final two chukkers of the round-robin with Melissa Ganzi scoring twice in the second chukker while Ashley Van Metre accounted for Catena’s only goal.
The Women’s Championship Tournament will kick of the Finals Week with a cocktail reception and draw at the Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame on Wednesday, April 1, 6:30-8:30. The finals are scheduled for Sunday, April 5th at 11am.
