There seems to be little talk and concern about an Equine virus called EHV1 (Equine Herpes Virus) here in Indio, CA. Its not just in Florida. A horse died from it within a 120 miles or 60 by the way birds fly from El Dorado Polo Club. We need to be concerned. If you do not believe me just look at this site www.faep.net. It is a big problem and a big concern. So think before you make a move and if you have a horse acting sick call a vet. This is not a scare tactic, this is a fact. Without horses there will be no polo and without polo there will be no pros and without them there will be no grooms or need for groundkeepers, managers, etc. So this is a genuine worry and we should all take measures to spread the word (not the virus) and make sure all grooms, pros, managers and horse haulers are aware of the problem and taking measure to insure any horses being shipped in are not infected.
