From Windsor, England  to Windsor Capital Polo in California, there  is some major action today and every place in between. In the big one of the day its the finals of the Queen’s Cup which has a band of young Guns from the UK with a young man from the south named Juan Gris Zavaleta.  He is a familiar name in Ca. as there have been many Zavaletas here at some point playing polo including Julio, Henry, Clemente, Augi, Juan Gris and their fathers Clemente Senior and Juan Martine, Sr. The Tomilison boys of the UK,  Luke and Mark, have been climbing the ladder for a while.  During the last couple of years, as part of the rebuilding of English Polo with the help of the English rules, more young UK-born players are getting into the big games instead of foriegn players.  Someday we will learn how to support our own US-born players here in the USA.  There are many young English players making their way to the top levels and this is proof that their system works.  Take a look at the lineups! Anyway,  it is Apes Hill with Mark and Luke Tomilison, Charlie Hanbury with Juan Gris against a tough Sumaya with a young South African named Ignus Du Plessis.  These players are making a wave in the polo world.  There are two brothers and Nick Johnson who join up with a former 10-goal star Milo Fernando Arauja so i?should be a good one.  Total youth vs. a lot of youth + a very seasoned vet who has won many big ones.

In CA its the finals of the Vic Graber Tournament at Santa Barbara Polo Club where Windsor Capital make it to their first final against Piocho Ranch.  Piocho is making their third finals of the summer as the Lawman and TJ Barrack try to get another Cup with J. Klentner and steady Joel Baker.  It was a big day for the Governor, Pat Nesbitt,  to lead Windsor Capital to the finals with some tricky plays coming in the heat of it all.  Young Glen Holden made some brilliant plays to help the Palomino (Jason Crowder) and young Juan Uranga to the Sunday meeting . Down in partyland San Diego has Opening Day today so it will be Party Time where the Surf meets the Turf. June Gloom seems to be gone so get going to POLO.

See ya.
