Hoyman Memorial Cup Finals winning team Southwind/Tritech received awards presented by Billy Hoyman and Sarah Barnett. Gaston VonWernich, Chris Collins, Jesse Bray, Chris Maloney finished 12 to 8 over Ohana/Star Meadow.

Southwind/TriTech’s Jesse Bray hooked hard against Ohana/Star Meadow’s Danny Juarez, but that wasn’t the only stick to crack.  Chris Collins went through two mallets playing well with two goals for Southwind/TriTech.

Teammate Maloney stroked in two penalty shots to get on the board, while VonWernich had four goals.  VonWernich’s long lofting shots forward helped result in four goals by Bray and the win for Southwind/TriTech.

In the earlier match of the day La Pasion/Princeps team members Ashton Wolf, Tracee Brunetti, Alvarao Tadeo, Dirk Wray carried home the winnner’s spoils presented by Billy Hoyman and Sarah Barnett.  La Pasion/Princeps won 8 to 4 over Monteverde/Princeps/SurferDoc.  Tadeo scored 6 of of the 8 to win for La Pasion/Princeps.

Between matches, North County Humane Society & SPCA brought a fun flyball team to entertain the crowd.  Saving the lives of homeless animals for over 70 years, North County Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that provides support and compassionate care for the well-being of animals and people.

Fast Fourward Flyball team entertained the crowd. Fast Fourward is a team where all dogs, despite their abilities, have an equal chance to play and have fun. Fast Fourward Flyball is currently one of the larger teams in California with some 30 dogs rostered on the team and around 20 handlers.

Father/son competitors Jesse and Graham Bray showed how fun it is to play on opposite teams on Father’s Day. The day’s opening ceremonies highlighted local talent Mercedes Martin-Raya and her rendition of the national anthem.  49th District Congressman Darrell Issa, and 74th Assembly District representative Martin Garrick threw in first balls.  Fine cars and DJ entertainment completed the day. It was blue sky and breezy and family fun for all on Father’s Day.
