Grant’s Farm Manor/Windsor Capital remain undefeated and Tri Tech gets first win in February 16 Goal in the desert.
INDIO, CA (Feb. 9, 2007) – Grants Farm Manor/Windsor Capital went to the top of the Indio 16 Goal leaderboard on Friday with a 13 – 11 victory over previously undefeated Hanalei Bay. After going out in front by four goals after the first and starting the sixth tied at 10, the Andy Busch/Pat Nesbitt foursome outscored Ron Bonaguidi’s Islanders by two in the final frame to remain the only perfect team in the February league.
Mariano Fassetta led the winners with five goals (4 fouls) while Jason Crowder (1 foul) and Busch each scored three. Playing very aggressivley on the front end allowed Nesbit to score twice. Agustin Zavaleta led Hanalei Bay with six goals (1 foul) in the losing effort. Bonaguidi had one.
In the second game of the day, Tri Tech finally got to the left side of the column with a 7 – 6 squeaker over winless Long Beach in a game many thought would go the other way. Long Beach have now lost all three of their games by just one goal.
Play continues in the 16 Goal on Sunday with two games: Grant’s Farm/Windsor will try and remain perfect in a game against Palm Desert and in the second, Long Beach will try and stop the misery with a victory over Hanalei Bay.
Best record after each team has played each other team twice will be the winner – no final.
Standings after eight games;
Grant’s Farm/Windsor 3 0 +7
Hanalei Bay 2 1 +4
Palm Desert 2 1 -1
Tri Tech 1 3 -7
