There were no suprises today in Indio, CA at Eldorado PC. The teams that win, won and those who do not, did not. It started early like 10:30 AM sunny and warm. Windsor /Grant’s Farm (WC/GF) did away with Hanalei Bay in their typical fashion with a very good rookie named Nick Morrision filling in for the Governor (Pat Nesbitt). He actually broke their back with a big backshot in the 5th to the Palomino (Jason Crowder) and put WC/GF up by 2 and it never got closer. WC/GF buried the Hanalei Bay squad in the 6th to roll to their 5th victory in a row. The combo in the middle with Fast-etta (Mariano Fassetta) and the Palomino will match up with anyone and the ends with the Govenor at 0 is a problem for the big sticks. They have Any Busch toshut the door and he will die to close it and he does. So you have a problem if you think this is going to be a day at the park anywhere. It does not really matter who you are or where you are from, its the real deal.
In other action in the 16-goal it was Dandy Dan loping off to another victory as they smoked Tri Tech and Silent Chris Maloney who is not a friendly guy these days. Chris has lost maybe 10 games in 2 years and 5 have been this month . Mr Smooth (Curt Hughes) continued his streak in the low goal as he buried Paul Von Gontard and his singing Oaks. Storm Cat without the cat added an Okie (Ted Oakie) and rolled on as they beat Zippy (Bill Zeiring) and Rancho Santa Fe. It was the Colorado Cowgirl (Jenny Luttrell) doing what she does best running. She ran a lot as her Cotterel Farms destroyed Dudley’s Casa Blanca to go to 5 and 0. It was also a good day for Mike’s World Gym as they were too much for Ore/Pac who are starting to feel lonely down below. It was Mr. V (Vladimir Rivkin) doing what he does best winning as Double Eagle, despite Zhenya, did a tap dance on PoloBARN.com.
It was not a very upsetting day as the winners won again and the losers well they did it again. Saturday brings round one to a close on some, as its the Bronze Bracket or the Carrott Cup. So there will be some barn burners. It was a picture perfect day for polo and its said to be the same all weekend. You do not have to blast out of here on Monday as its a holiday. See ya.
