Win on Friday will give February 16 Goal at Eldorado to Grant’s Farm/Windsor
INDIO, CA (February 21, 2007) – Grant’s Farm Manor/Windsor Capital can wrap up the Eldorado February 16 Goal title with a victory over Tri Tech on Friday. After Hanalei Bay went under this morning 10 – 9, by the hand of Palm Desert, all the Andy Busch/Pat Nesbitt boys had to do was beat Long Beach in the afternoon and the title would have been theirs. Although it was close, it wasn’t to be and the Walkers (Henry and Matthew) prolonged what most everyone believes is inevitable, and squeaked one out by a score of 9 – 8. The score at the half favored Long Beach by seven at 8 – 1 and had that difference held up for the final score, it would have pulled Busch and Nesbitt down in the net goal department and the weekend would have been interesting. It wasn’t to be however, although Ron Bonaguidi and Dan Horn still have a chance albeit about as much chance as that proverbial snowball.
Tri Tech can as well be a “prolonger” with a win on Friday, but it’s expected the title will be decided at that time. On the otherhand, if Tri Tech does win, it will keep Horn in the running for the Roenisch Bronzes and he could win them with a large (read net goal) victory over the leaders in the final game on Sunday.
Fridays other game will put the Hawaiians against the Long Beach quartet and again a scenerio wherein a big win for the Islanders could make it interesting.
As confusing as it seems, it can be simplified thusly – Grant’s Farm/Windsor win one of their remaining two and they win it all.
