Grant’s Farm Manor/Windsor Capital claim February 16 Goal at Eldorado
INDIO, CA (February 23, 2007) – Playing only as well as they had to, Grant’s Farm/Windsor defeated Tri Tech by a score of 9 – 6 in Friday’s second 16 Goal game in Indio and in doing so clinched the Rich Roenisch Bronzes for February. With Nick Morrison substituting for Pat Nesbitt, the Andy Busch foursome spotted Chris Maloney and Co. a handicap goal at the start, were even in less than two minutes, and led most of the way.
In the first game of the day, Hanalei Bay retained their very faint hope of a title by eaking out a 10 – 9 overtime win over Long Beach. Obviously, that hope was long gone after game two.
Palm Desert could become the bridesmaid with at least a three goal victory over Busch and Nesbitt in the final game on Sunday. With a win, Dan Horn would draw even in the win/loss column with Ron Bonaguidi’s Islanders and three goals would give them second place based on net goals. In that the game is really little more than a practice for the league winners, Horn could indeed get the runner up prizes.
Sunday’s other game will see Long Beach play Tri Tech.
Standings:
Grant’s Farm/Windsor 6 1 +16
Hanalei Bay 5 3 + 5
Palm Desert 4 3 + 3
Long Beach 2 5 – 5
Tri Tech 1 6 -19
