There have been a lot of big names in Polo at Eldorado PC, but the biggest minus Prince Charles is back this weekend. It is Memo Gracida who has been 10-Goals for 20 + years, he has 20 U.S. Opens and has won every major tournament in the World. Memo will be in an exhibition Charity game Sunday at 2 PM with the January Champs Palm Desert in typical Dan Horn style. Palm Desert will be better after a losing effort in Feb. Dan comes back with this amazing exhibition game.
Dan Horn has been an awesome addition to high-goal polo in the desert and its great to see this motivation. For Dan to bring Memo Gracida in to play for an afternoon is a treat to the desert Polo. Memo is currently suspended from playing in competion of the U.S.P.A. sanctioned events, but he is allowed to compete in friendly polo (exhibition matches) and thats what this match is. Windsor Cap wiped out all the competition in the 16-goal throughout Feb. so they have already become winners of 2007. This exhibition match will be a fun game to see the “Matero” at work.
It will be a big help to a lackluster day for final Sunday as most winners have been decided already. Windsor Capital/Grant’s Farm 16-goal champs, Cam Clark Ford 4-goal/ 6 chukker champs, the 8-goal is nearly history as the Colorado Cowgirl (Jenny Luttrell) has kicked a_ _ all month. She needs to lose by 6 or worse in order “not” to pack the bronze home. The one game that might be for real is the 4-Goal/4-Chukker which is my favorite! It will be a match between Mr. Smooth (Curt Hughes) and Friendly Chevorlet vs. Fish Creek and its at 10 a.m. They must feel special. Ms. Jenny Luttrell and her Cotterell Farm vs. Aspen Oaks at noon on the International for the 8-Goal month-ender and then in the exhibition at 2 PM between Palm Desert and Windsor Capital/Grant’s Farm. So its a promising day for all the polo fans. See ya there
