Polo takes a hit and Santa Barbara gets it the worst. Buddy Linfoot has passed away. Buddy Linfoot was more than a famous name, he was a huge supporter of Santa Barbara Polo. Buddy was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need whether it be horse information or polo tips. He had a way of helping people. So I must sadly say so long Sir. We will miss you!

Another knife in the body for Santa Barbara was Duende’s Patron Mike Hakan. He broke his leg Sunday at La Quinta Polo Club. Chances are a long recovery as it may include a steel rod for him. This could be a problem for the twice-defending champs going for a three peat of the Pacific Coast Open Title.

Also on the sidelines with injuries are The Governor Pat Nesbitt who has not lost a gam in ’07 yet. He had his chance as his team Windsor Capital took 2nd place to Duende two years in a row for the Pacific Coast Open, but he is now a spectator on the sidelines from a skiing accident. Danny Walker and Ben Soleimani are also sidelined with injuries and now Mike Hakan. Also recovering well is Geoff Palmer who had a hip replaced, but thinks he will be ready to go after another big title.

It could be a little slow on the Gold Coast this summer, we shall see. It’s not pretty right know for sure. So if you are looking for easy pickings, fantastic weather and beauty beyond belief, just give us a call at International Polo Connection (805) 896-4406. We have room for everyone. If you are looking for up and coming players come to the George Oliver Cup on Saturday, March 3rd at IPC in Florida. Bring a PTF Member too. Maybe they will see what can be done with U.S. dollars if they just tried to improve U.S. Polo. See ya.
