INDIO, CA (March 11, 2007) – Grant’s Farm Manor/Windsor Capital took a firm hold on the 2007 16 Goal season in the Desert with a 9 – 7 victory over Hanalei Bay in the final of the Prelude. In doing so, the Andy Busch/Pat Nesbitt foursome became the favorite to win the Barbara Sinatra Skins Polo Game in two weeks time.
With Nesbitt out and awaiting knee surgery, Nick Morrison once again mounted up with Busch, Jason Crowder, and Mariano Fassetta and together they turned a 5 – 4 lead at half-time into a 9 – 5 margin after five and coasted from there. Busch (1 foul), Crowder (1 foul), and Fassetta each scored three times to get the trophy. Ron Bonaguidi’s Islanders scored three goals from the field.
Earlier in the day, Long Beach and Tri Tech played what amounted to a practice and the score was not kept.
The Skins Tournament starts next Friday.
