It was a Super Sunday at Polo wherever they played from Palm Beach to Indio. There was lots of polo. In New York they had ice and across the midwest, but it was 96 F in Indio and 80 + in Sarasota and West Palm Beach so like why freeze your A_ _ if not needed?
It was a wild day at the park. In the 4-goal Melody oaks won over Gehache and it was on to the next time slot where there were some big games. Windsor/Grant’s Farm wasted little time in dismissing Hanalei Bay from the tournament in the 16-goal. In the 8-goal it was the big one as the Colorado Cowgirl Jenny Luttrell took on Mr. Smooth’s replacement (Lance Hughes). It was a dandy, but Lance has to go back to work Monday and face Dad (Curt Hughes) and he did it as they won the Officers Cup with young gun Juan Curbelo showing the way as they beat Jenny and Cotterell Farms for the Officer’s Cup finals. So Dad (Curt Hughes) gets hurt, but puts his team in the finals and Son Lance comes and picks up Lunch and a set of silver. There is little doubt Jenny is the best 0 in town!
In a real finals it was Little Smokin’ Joe Anthony and his Rancho Amistad coming from down yonder and rallying for a big win as they stopped Mrs. Ellie (Ellen Greenhill) and the Sundance Boys as they often were behind. The WolfMan (Ashton Wolf) and Juan Jo (Juan Jose Gonzalez) battled it out, but came away with Silver at the end. So it turned out to be Rancho Amistad carring the silver home as they beat Monteverde.
Then all eyes turned to the 16-goal as all expected a win by Tri Tech to set the table for next Sunday, but someone forgot to tell the plan to Long Beach as from down town they came flying home and continued a bad winter for the TriTech mushers. This turn of events really set the table for a very busy Friday afternoon as the finals will not be decided until then. As it stands Windsor is in 1st with a + 4 and Long Beach with a minus 1 and third is Tri Tech with a minus 4.
Down South in Florida it was a western flavor as Little Mac came out with a big win as La Herradura smoked Pony Express to head to the semis. Also on Super Sunday it was Lechuza in overtime stopping the fruits of Orchard Hill. On the same road it was Bendabout doing away with Las Monjitas. Last but not least Adolfo Cambiaso and Pelon Stirling of Spain buried the newboys of Black Watch to show Adolfo is still king of the Mountain. RULE 18 IS THE TEAM WITH THE MOST GOALS AT THE END OF A GAME (WINS). See ya soon.
