The rest of the story about Sunday afternoon at the Skins 16-Goal Finals @ Eldorado PC. I had a hard day on Sunday and a harder night. It was a wild time at Fred Mannix’s Brazo Norte Party. It was so much fun and so hard on the body come Monday morning. Around Polo there were some wild times on the field as well.

It was in the Triple Crown of Polo in Sarasota in the first leg of the TC Lady Cochran out doing Ms. Cook as the Rude Boys took home the Diamonds in a very exciting game they say. Over in Boca Raton, FL where they were playing for the Int. Cup for 50 grand it was Fair Oaks doing a good job in a ugly game to Audi. Mark Ganzi, who from reports to me, was also ejected for dangerous play most of the game, so that was not cool, but that’s polo sometimes. Minds do tend to blow occasionally. Of course it was another feather in Super star Adolfo Cambiaso’s cap as he won the Gold Cup again at IPC. It was also a very good game as I saw the video. It was a very strong game. Two players really showed in the video who I though were the real MVP’s in the form of Jeff Blake of Lechuza Caracas and a speed ball named David Sterling, Jr. He is from Spain and with little doubt was the best player from Spain. He will be 9 next year. I would guess if Adolfo Cambiaso needed more help he really did get it.

In the Desert it was the 16-Goal Skins Finals and it was a big lift from a dreadful season of bad weather, polo, horses and fields. The Skins Tournament has its own identity as it is 6 games in one as each chukker is a game. If there is a tie its carried over and each chukker is supposed to be worth $4,000 dollars. This is not quite true as its really $3333.00, but whatever. So it was agood start for Windsor /Grant’s Farm as with 16 seconds left Fas-etta (Mariano Fassetta) scored to be up by 1 Skin the second and third were very good and with some amazing chances for TriTech they failed to score and Windsor/GF had the same problem. Then in the 4th (which with rollovers) was worth 12 grand more or less, I should say, it was a big Chukker for WC/GF as Andy Busch scored. His point was followed shortly by another Windsor/GF goal and it was 2 and 0. Windsor/GF had just won 3 more Skins. The 5th was all Tri Tech, but the Palomino (Jason Crowder) tied it at the very end and saved himself from a missed open goal penalty. Then the 6th also remained tied do to an amazing save by Silent Chris Maloney. All thought it was history and then Chris flies in and makes an amazing save and it was off to overtime. In the 7th the crowd was well tuned in by now and loud. Tritech got the throw in, but Windsor/GF got the ball back only to lose it back Tritech who took off for the goal and just missed on a double wide goal. The Palomino (Jason Crowder) knocked in dribbled once as he saw the Master (Mariano Fassetta) on the run and sent him the mail. Mariano Fassetta was on a mare named Comet was gone. There was no miss in Fast-etta he was making history right then as they were the champions on Sunday winning all the mini games/chukkers.
