Houston, TX
Spring polo action continued at the Houston Polo Club on May 3rd as Pegasus took on No Le Hace in the season’s first feature 8-goal match. HPC’s Derby Day brought out fans in the hundreds to enjoy some terrific weather, beautiful horses, and a wine tasting by Fleming’s Steakhouse, while showing off their best Sunday hats.
On the field, No Le Hace’s George Georgiades (0), Kristy Outhier (2), Mason Wroe (3, playing on behalf of Wesley Sinor), and Nick Cifuni (3) played it close against the father and son team of David and Hunter Andras (2, 0), Stuart Armstrong (4) and Bryan Middleton (3) of Pegasus. At the half, the game was tied up 3-3 as spectators took to the field to stomp divots and sample Rodney Strong wines. The second half was just as exciting as both teams traded goals well into the 6th chukker. The final goal in the 6th by Mason Wroe won the match 7-6 for No Le Hace’s nearly all-Aggie team.
HPC’s Spring season continues next Sunday, May 10, at 5 p.m., with more 8-goal action and a special Mother’s Day celebration.
