Sunday, Sept. 20th ’09: The La Maria team of Richard Caleel, Justin Klentner, Matt Ladin ,and Matt Walker took home the silver Sunday afternoon in the finals of the first 8 goal tournament of our fall season. Harry East was the long time polo manager here at the polo club during the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. This exciting match was tied 7 to 7 in the 5th chukker when La Maria scored 6 unanswered goals to take the finals 12-8 over Braveheart/Nicoma. High scorer was Matt Ladin who put thru 2 penalties and 5 goals from the field, Matt walker scored the goal of the afternoon when he took the ball coast to coast in the 5th chukker and broke the resolve of the opposition to put La Maria up by two goals. Roberto Zedda was high scorer for B/N with 5 Goals. Nest up for our fall season is the USPA circuit Presidents cup which will begin on 26 September and end on 4 October.
