The final game of the 2009 Roadrunner Tournament between Bill Garlock’s Park Lane and Hayward Pardu’s PCA group, played on an absolutely perfect Sunday afternoon in front of a good crowd, turned out to be a walk in the park for the Garlock foursome. With both teams coming into the championship game on the strength of easy wins on Saturday, Park Lane was able to continue their dominance as they won decisively by a score of 8 – 4.
With Charley Peterson and Ashton Wolf scoring early in the first, the tone was set and the Garlock guys were on their way. A two goal lead after one turned into a five goal bulge (6 – 1) at the half. A lead of six (8 – 2) going to the final, allowed the eventual winners to walk through that period and on to the podium.
Wolf and Peterson (1 foul) scored three apiece for the champs and Jay Clark converted two penalty attempts.
Jake Devane led the engineers with three goals (2 fouls) while Pardu scored one.
