Piocho Ranch is all alone at the top of the Lisle Nixon, the first tournament of the 2009 season in Santa Barbara. T.J. Barrack did it for the team. With the clock ticking down and only 4 seconds to go before the first bell it was TJ going balls-to-the-wall to stop a ball from going out. He turned it in for the goal. His timing was perfect as it went in as he smashed into a goal post and crashed to the ground, but after a few gasps he was up and a very happy man. Piocho remains the only undefeated team in the tournament at this moment and they only have Antelope to go. I think Piocho is in the finals almost for sure where they may have to deal with Long Beach again.
It was a very cool and cloudy Sunday in the fire country, but we could not see any smoke so that was good. In the first game of the day it was Geoff Palmer leading his Antelope squad of young guns down victory lane with a big goal to end the chukker up by one. It sends La Kirina to 0 and 2 and leaves both Long Beach and Antelope tied at 1 and 1. Antelope is + 3 so the Friday game is a big one for Antelope to have a chance to get to the finals. I hear it has been moved from Sat. to Fri. but that is not official yet.
Polo is set to get rolling all over the country in the next week or so. Let us know your schedules we look forward to publishing all we can.
See ya.
