The Polo Report

Grant’s Farm returns to the top of the ladder. They have climbed slowly, but surely for most years since. It was 10 years ago since the boys in green roared back and beat Windsor Capital to win the Pacific Coast Open. It happened again today. They were trailing by one going into the 6th. It took a couple of mistakes and adios amigos as a team of Gringos came roaring down Victory Lane.
The game was in control of ERG often during the first 5 chukkers. It was never a given and there were some awesome plays by all on the field. No one said its over and they just kept coming on to make the plays.
All the players made huge plays at one time or another, but it was the Green Team that finished the deal. It was our four-legged players who made it happen until the 6th. I felt we were in control, not totally, but ahead of the curve. In the 6th Sugar and Jeff seemed just a little faster and quicker on the turn and it was downhill from there for us and very uphill for them. I thought Jeff Blake was the best player on the field today and he never quit, but he will always blame himself for a back shot missed in the 6th. It was a great game and we will follow with a players article soon. I just wanted the people who could not be here what the results were. Even though I did not like them, I thought it was great after 10 years that Andy Busch was champion again. He played very well. Even this much later (10 years later) of course he is only 35.
See ya.
