Hello Players,
Although we’ve had a rainy winter, it’s that time of the year to start thinking about those warm summer months ahead. This year marks the 24th season of the San Diego Polo Club, and we invite you to come to where the “turf meets the surf” and to another great season in beautiful San Diego.
As you can see from the attached 2010 schedule, we will begin play in May with our popular pro pool, and continue through October, with the barns opening April 3rd, and Stick and Ball starting April 29th. We are planning to open the arena and school on April 8th.
The San Diego Polo Club offers membership levels that appeal to any player whether you want to play in the arena, are ready to take your first gallop down a grass field, or are looking to put in your own team for the 12 goal. Don’t forget to take advantage of our early discount on your fees if they are paid on or before February 15th. We reduced the fees last year to our 2007 level to help during a bad economy. This year we have had to slightly increase playing fees since we are making improvements required by the City of San Diego with the objective of extending our lease long term. Stall fees will remain the same as last year.
The club offers an array of sponsorship and advertising opportunities such as a tournament or weekend match sponsorship (which includes a table for 8 and a corporate banner), and additional advertising such as a billboard, sideboard, or advertisement in the club program which is also posted on our website. If you or your company is interested in sponsoring an event or advertising in our program this year, please give us a call to discuss the many sponsorship opportunities available. We will be happy to work with you to tailor our program to fit your personal and corporate needs.
If you are thinking of visiting San Diego from out of town this year and want to play some polo during your visit, let us put together a visiting player package that includes tournament participation and seats in our members club for Sunday polo. The club has close ties with the best resorts in San Diego such as Rancho Valencia Resort or La Valencia Hotel, and can arrange accommodations for you and your family. Our USPA open tournaments in August and September offer a fantastic opportunity to experience great polo, perfect weather, and a chance to partake in the many family (and grown-up) attractions in San Diego. We have a packed social calendar this year with great parties and exciting activities. Whatever your level – pro pool, 4 goal, stick and ball, or high goal – I look forward to seeing you all on the fields, in the Tiki Bar, and for lunch with a spectacular view and great polo on Sundays.
