Calgary, Alberta (July 8, 2007) – John Rooney kept his Calgary winning streak going on Sunday as his Tusk Energy crew deafeated Cymric Glen by a margin of two at 8 – 6 in game five of the J Vair Anderson Cup. The victory places Tusk in the Thursday final against either Millarville or Palmer Ranch.
Starting with one on the handicap difference, Rooney led his drillers with three goals while Matt Sekara had a pair and Joe Henderson and Todd Martineau claimed one each. Together they were strong defensively and made life difficult for Cymric’s Jeff Hall who was able to get little done all afternoon.
Cymric goals were scored by Hall with three (2 fouls), Mike Kerley with two, and Matthew Schwartz getting one. Yvette Biddle filled in for Dyan Leyshon-Pettigrew who was injured in Cymric’s previous game.
The Millarville – Palmer Ranch game will be played on Tuesday.
