Announcer John Cole almost sounded like a broken record. He seemed to be saying the same two words more times then one could count. Those two words were “Michel Dorignac”. And for good reason, the Number 3 on Polo Do was in the middle of the action all game long, and led his team to a 14-10 victory over Heathcote Farm today. To no one’s surprise Dorignac was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

Meanwhile on the other side Matias Magrini was seeing red, as in Polo Do shirts, as Polo Do closely marked him. A number of times he had a couple or more opponents on him. Still the 10-goaler was not shut down. He ended up as the high scorer on the day, with half a dozen goals, four of which came from the field. On a couple of those Magrini was in a scrum but emerged to score. Magrini also lofted a couple of beautiful passes to team patron Steve Lefkowitz, who took them in for goals. Lefkowitz had a nice game with four goals, three of them from the field. His Ronchere, on whom he played in the fourth and sixth chukkers, when he made all his goals, was named the Best Playing Pony.

Polo Do held a 3-2 lead after one chukker, but them broke things open in the second as Dorignac had a hat trick, two of which came from the field. After converting a penalty 2, he grabbed the ball from the ensuing throw-in, and scored. With Heathcote kept off the board, polo Do led 6-2 after two chukkers. Polo Do kept up a good team effort in the third chukker when Matias Bullrich had two field goals, the second off a nice pass from Dorignac, and Carlos Avendano had one. The teams went into the half with Polo Do up 9-4. Heathcote Farm played well in the second half, but could make up the deficit.

Guillermo Aguero also had a good game, scoring five field goals.

POLO DO: Matias Bullrich (0), Guillermo Aguero (7), Michel Dorignac (7), Carlos Avendano (6) = 20

HEATCHOTE FARM: Steve Lefkowitz (0), Carlos Arellano (5), Matias Magrini (10), Nick Manifold =20
