Two teams coming off of a tough go of it in the previous tournament came out of the starting gate firing on all cylinders for the USPA Rossmore Cup played at the San Diego Polo Club. Adeptus started the tournament by knocking off newly crowned champions of The Americas Cup, Marcus and Millichap in overtime, then they defeated the always tough San Fernando team, and finally they defeated the Chris Hoyman Memorial Cup champions Monte Verde to claim a spot in the finals. OC/True Choice took on the same opposition and was quite dominate as they won their way into the finals. On finals Sunday Adeptus started with one goal on handicap but right after the first throw in Clemente Zavaleta evened the score for OC/True Choice, but Tomas Obregon scored twice for Adeptus to make the score 3-1. But OC/True Choice scored five out of the next six goals to lead 6-4 at halftime. In the second half Jessica Bailey scored to bring Adeptus back to within one goal and Tomas Obregon followed with a goal that tied the game at six. Late in the final chukker Obregon put Adeptus back into the lead at 7-6. OC/True Choice dodged a couple of close scoring opportunities from Adeptus who was trying for an insurance goal, but OC/True Choice had yet to score in the second half and time was running out for them as they tried to get their attack going. With 48 seconds remaining OC/True Choice knocked in with just 300 yds between them and a tie game, finally they got the ball into scoring territory, but Zavaleta and Ashton Wolf the teams two big guns had been taken out of the play, but teammate Robert Kiger followed them up knocking in the game tying goal sending the game into overtime. In the OT Clemente Zavaleta came right out of the throw in and took the ball down and scored the winning goal for OC/True Choice making them the USPA Rossmore Cup 0-4 goal champions. Robert Kiger was named the games MVP.
