Lets start up north in the Canadian Rockies. I know they play Polo farther north, but its around Edmonton and I know not where, but the Big Beautiful Rockies are sure evident in Calgary. It has to be the spot for beauty in polo clubs and they are rockin’ there. The low-goal is booming and some high-goal is being played as the Northwest is growing. Fred Mannix is still pushing with Little Mac (Fred Mannix, Jr.) at the helm it will grow I think.

Just down the Rockies and a little west you have some up and comers in the Vancouver area its Steinke Land (Craig Steinke) as they have some action on his spread on the U.S./ Canada border just a little south (Ferndale, WA). There is Hidden Creek Polo Club which has the North West cougar attitude (near Portland). It will be big and Mr. Keys has the keys to open it. Move east and Sheridan, WY is rocking. This is where the Late Skeeter Johnston was building and its still moving nowhere but up. I would guess Polo Northwest is just around the corner.

To the south you have Jackson, WY often called Jackson Hole where the bandidos hid in the homesteader days. It’s a fun polo time and very busy as well. I hear Dudley White is there so look out when entering. Then Aspen, CO where it is higher up, but farther south is going and California has San Diego the Party place as well as the polo headquarters of the fabulous five at Petaluma. This is just the wildest, wackiest club of them all. Then there is Santa Barbara where they have the 20-goal now in action headed. If you head super far south its Costa Careyes and Mexico City closed for a while. Carcass is about to open and Chile and Argentina are waiting on a thing called Spring, as its been cold down there. I heard it actually snowed in Open Door (near Pilar) last month, which was the first time since the late 1920’s.

South of the equator there is not too much action yet. The Aussies have some and the Africans have some resorts moving along, but head to Europe and you will find so many places for polo right now. The UK just finished the high-goal, but lordy b there are 50 teams still at it from 15-goal polo down. In Spain the big sticks have 14 or so teams in Sotogrande. Its 20 goal I think maybe 22-goall, but I doubt it. France has Deauville and they are in their main season now with a lot teams. Tomas Obregon, Matias, Obregon and Mariano Gutierrez are there playing for three weeks while San Diego is on break.

Then there is Portugal and Germany, also filling the needs of many polo players. If you need some pasta you should head to Italy. They are in action as well. Cross the pond and you will see the Statue of Liberty as you head to the social world of the Hamptons in New York, where High-goal teams are in action and 25 of 6- to 20-goal teams are competing around the Long Island area. Enter the mainland and you have polo at Saratoga between races, Mashomack PC and Blue Sky PC also in NY. If you are looking for more horses head to Kentucky where there is a herd of polo players hiding from something. There is also Oak Brook PC in Chicago where its not always windy, but it can be hot. So if your looking for POLO its near you.
