Playing to hundreds of tailgating spectators tonight,
the first match of the Ylvisaker Cup kicked off this week at Saratoga Polo, with Team Regent outscoring Team Vivace by just one goal, 9 to 8.

The action-filled match featured high-goal players from the Capital Region, Houston (Billy Mudra, Mason Wroe, Trey Malechek) and as far away as South Africa (Stuart Campbell).

Matches in the Ylvisaker Cup continue Friday and Sunday at 5:30 p.m. on the historic Whitney Field, 2 Bloomfield Road, just five minutes from downtown Saratoga Springs.

The Ylvisaker Cup is in memory of William T. “Bill” Ylvisaker, who died earlier this year. Ylvisaker was inducted into the polo hall of fame in 1994, was a former owner of Saratoga Polo, and founded Florida’s Palm Beach Polo and Country Club in Wellington, FL.
