Now that the 20 goal teams have departed, the local players are getting the glory in the Harry East Memorial 8 goal in Santa Barbara.

In the first round of games, a very competitive game between China Beach and Homewood was won by Homewood 13-11. Every player on each team scored in an entertaining match, but in the end Santa Barbara newcomer Christian Riva and his Homewood teammates proved too much for the scrappy China Beach team.

In the next game between Gehache and Mansour Glencito Holden got things off to a great start for Gehache

with a quick goal, but it was all Mansour after that. “The Santis” which would be Santiago Wulff and Santiago von Wernich of Mansour teamed up for 12 goals en route to a 13-9 victory.

The second round of games looked like it would start off with an upset, as China Beach jumped out to a quick lead over Mansour behind a pair of goals from Bowen Farrell. Santi von Wernich brought Mansour back into the game with a couple of nice goals, but a field goal from Wes Ru gave China Beach a 6-4 lead going into halftime. But Santi von Wernich came out in fire in the 4th chukker on a handy grey horse and got three goals, which together with a goal from Santi Wulff put Mansour in the lead 8-6. Mansour never looked back, going on to win 14-9.

The other second round game turned into a run away for Homewood, as they used great teamwork to jump out to an early lead. Gehache rallied in the second half but couldn’t ever challenge the Homewood lead. Homewood won 13-8.
