smokin as 6 teams line up for a very big one in party central as it is rockin with lots of people and Players .
Willis Allen was a big reason there is a San Diego Polo Club and it will always be a big deal to win the Cup in his name . Action got started on Friday with two games as Starmeadow jumped all over Adeptus/Monteverde and ran away with a big victory for a very happy Joy Bancroft and she headed home at 1 and 0 in the second game it was a bit of surprise as two Little Ladies Mrs. Tracy Brunetti and Erika Woods making their first trip to the high goal version of the Willis Allen surprised The House of Casa Blanca and Mrs Ronai White to pick up a w and keep things rolling on Sat. it was dandy as Tri tech/Trinity took on a team with Willis Allen written all over it as Hanalei Bay/Southwind got it on HB/SW has two direct Relatives of Mr Allen In Chris and Christopher Collins Grandson and Great Grandson and they lit it up with some brilliant runs down the field and took the win . Young Christopher was showing a big improvement after a Owen Rinehart Summer of Polo in Wy. he was very quick and maybe a little to fast at times on these fields but played a very good game of Polo and he even survived a very dangerous situation as he was trapped upside down on his horse when he hung up to a stirrup crossed over the back of his horse might of got a little taller but soon as was free was back on the run again . It was a very good game to watch with young guns Jessie and Chris letting them run.
Sunday was a big day as round two got started at 10.30 on a well ugly sort of day as we have had a lot of them on the coast this summer with June Gloom just hanging around it all started with 2 winners from Sunday with Starmeadow taking on Hanalei Bay/ SouthWind and it was very good game as Starmeadow also carries a Owen R student in Nick the stick Morrision and the two young guns showed why they maybe a big part of the future of US Polo with good discipline and fast reactions it came down to a bit of a foul fest as most were not called but a lot were and it was Starmeadow getting the W and going to 2 and 0 and leaving HB/SW at 1 and 1 as the clock headed to the 1 p.m. time it was a packed house as a huge turnout awaited the Sunshine which just showed up to make it a lovely day and it started out hard fast and a little rough as Casa Blanca did not want to go to 0 and 2 and I do not think Tri Tech/Trinity wanted it either as both had lost in the first round the game was close most of the way and some big plays by Patrons kept it that way as Rick Pacius came barreling through with some clutch shots and Mrs Ronai also closed the door a couple of times to stop a big run by TT from scoring with the clock ticking down it was a clutch shot from the Doctor to send it into OT and after a break it was back at it for Sudden Death which lasted about 4 minutes when Young Carlos Galindo smoked a 60 yarder thru for the winner and to stay in the race at 1 and 1 and send the T’s to 0 and 2 in the break between games it was a Bill Allen show of airplanes Bill is son of Willis and a very big man in the Air world and had a bunch of friends bring there Single engine airplanes into the Polo fields and watch the game and show the planes so with the huge crowd meandering across the field stomping some diviots on their way to and from the planes it was time for the main event as Adeptus/Monteverde 0 and 1 taking on 1 and 0 Lapasion/KALYPSO quite a title for these little Ladies but they kept a big crowd rocking thru the afternoon Mrs Tracy even knocked down her big stick early on and got the Palomino fired up as they took control in the first 1/2 as both Tracy and Erika scored to keep ahead of a hard fighting Adpt/Mont squad it was Ms Wilson who stood out big on the losing side scoring 1/2 of her teams goals with some big runs to wow the crowd but it was not enough as they fell to 0 and 2 and like TT are out of the running for this one . The game was over but in San Diego it is just the horn to start the band as the Party is on until the Sun Sets and then some so come join the fun next weekend at the finals of the WILLIS ALLEN.
