The 2010 USPA 4 goal Central Circuit Congressional Cup at the Silver Spur Polo Club in Illinois took place in Mid-July. There were several competitive teams that participated from the Midwest area. The Flat Out team from Michigan even included the captain of the women’s Michigan State team and the captain of the women’s University of Michigan team.

In the preliminary match, Team Shuttlecock had a competitive game against the Silver Spur team. There was great teamwork between Don Healy and Dean Regas with several big runs & goals for the Silver Spur team team. Shuttlecock’s Chris Vangel and Scott Lucas tallied back with several more goals. Tracy Regas scored on two penaltys to win the game for Silver Spur. In the next match up, Len Monson and Kelsey Brazik (from the Shuttlecock team) had excellent defense against the Flat Out team that was visiting from the Michigan area. Then Paul Knapp and Danielle Rewitzer had a couple penalty conversions and nice shots on goal to even the score. In the last chukkar, Shiela Skinner and Sheila Knapp had a big run to goal to win the game for the Flat Out team.
The final game was between Flat Out and Silver Spur. Flat Out’s Paul Knapp was the high scorer of the game, scoring all of the goals for his team. However, the Silver Spur team did not give up that easily and Don Healy and Georgie Westerdahl rallied back with a couple of goals each chukkar. The Flat Out team won the tournament. The trophies were beautiful, engraved vases.
